No. 3: Friends and community.
Cultivate is held right in the middle of downtown Port Hope, Ontario (an adorable little town where they sometimes shoot creepy movies, like IT) and as we knew we were on the cusp of possibly moving back to our hometown, it was wonderful to get together with friends and people we’d become close with over the last five years living in the area.
I wasn’t joking about the IT thing either… they literally set up Cultivate around the massive statue and the rest of the park was filled with a fake carnival.
It all added to the magic of the weekend, I think!
This was our second year at Cultivate and we’re already looking forward to next year. Now that we have moved, I think it’ll be even more important for us to connect with our BFFs just down the highway.
Cheers and enjoy, foodie friends. Mark your calendars for next year’s Cultivate festival and be sure to get on their mailing list.
I should also tell you that the Friday through Sunday part of the festival is what the call The Big Weekend — but leading up to that weekend is a whole host of dinners and events to make the experience even more amazing. Also, kids 12 and under are totally free. See you there next year!
We were invited to attended Cultivate as guests. As always, all opinions are our own. Make sure you visit the Cultivate website and get on their mailing list so you’ll be the first to know when next year’s tickets go on sale.
